History of James Wimble & Eebahoo Ltd
Eebahoo Ltd is my company name - but I am a person: Jim Wimble. When you call you will get me. Not a call centre or a different person each time. I have worked as a professional web designer and developer since 2000. I have studied PHP and MySQL development since around 2001. When you work with me you receive a professional, long-term partnership.
July 2006 until present
Eebahoo Ltd, Director & Developer
I now cover web consultancy, affiliate marketing, usability, accessibility and site security. My core skills are still PHP and MySQL development with database driven sites, especially e-commerce, being my main forte. I also cover database optimisation and efficiency.
January 2002 until July 2006
Freelance
I worked mainly with sales people who sold web sites while I carried out the actual coding, design and hosting. I was the sole technical contact for all of the clients.
June 2001 until January 2002
Netidentity Ltd
Carnaby Street, London
This was the first position that I started to work in PHP and explore database driven applications. The level of client increased and we worked with a sales team who introduced us to a vast array of different web sites and industries. I was the only person in the office that performed database or server side coding. I also spent a lot of time working in Flash and actionscript at this time.
July 2000 until June 2001
Abraxas Internet Ltd
Westminster, London
As my first role in working professionally as a web designer I focused mainly on traditional web design. Cross browser compatibility was of no real concern and table based layouts were the standard. Flash appeared from time to time but was rare and was only for introductions. I worked mainly in Dreamweaver and experienced working on many live web sites and meeting clients.
October 1999 until July 2000
Learning web design
I spent this period of my life learning web design at home. I was in a David Bowie tribute band and my first web site was for the band. I obviously found it inspiring. I then began to work with someone who was an amateur web site salesman and we built our first few paid web sites.
